The TAR UMT Outstanding Researcher Award recognises researchers who demonstrate research excellence, scholarly innovation, and a strong commitment to making a meaningful impact through their research.

We are proud to congratulate Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liew Chiam Wen from the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FOAS) on being conferred the TAR UMT Outstanding Researcher Award 2025 in recognition of her exceptional research achievements and significant contributions to the advancement of knowledge.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liew's research focuses on developing solid-state electrolytes for energy storage devices, exploring safer alternatives to conventional liquid electrolytes, and advancing the potential of next-generation energy storage technologies. Further highlighting her outstanding research contributions, she has also been recognised among the World's Top 2% Scientists 2026 (Career-Long Impact) in the Energy sub-field under Enabling and Strategic Technologies, reflecting her sustained research excellence and international scholarly impact.
