In conjunction with the 2026 theme year of the 5th Anniversary of the China-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, a China-Malaysia roundtable discussion was successfully held on 3 March 2026 (Tuesday) at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) Arena.
The roundtable discussion was organised by the Yunnan Provincial Commercial Representative Office in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) and co-organised by the Southeast Asia Research Centre for Humanities (SEARCH) and TAR UMT.
The event was held under the theme “Reconfiguration of China-ASEAN Regional Value Chains: China-Malaysia Joint Efforts to Build a Regional Green Industry Hub”. The discussion provided a platform for participants from academia, industry, and the policy sector to exchange perspectives on strengthening bilateral cooperation, exploring emerging opportunities in regional green industry development, and promoting sustainable practices.
The roundtable focused on several key areas, including:
Regional economic and value chains cooperation
Future trends in the regional green industry and renewable energy
Opportunities for business and investment collaboration
This roundtable highlights TAR UMT’s commitment to enhancing international academic and industry collaboration, particularly in areas that promote regional sustainability and economic cooperation between China and Malaysia.
