Programme Overview:
The Master of Counselling programme at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) aims to prepare students in becoming competent and ethical counsellors in the counselling profession. Students will acquire advanced knowledge and skills related to counselling while cultivating the core values of becoming professional counsellors. These integrated components are the keys to promoting positive therapeutic relationships between professional helpers and clients in need.

Minimum Entry Requirement
Minimum Entry Requirements
A Bachelor's degree (Level 6 MQF) in Counselling or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00; OR
A Bachelor's degree (Level 6 MQF) in any discipline with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 AND related work experience.
Candidates need to undergo an interview and assessment upon request by the Head of Department.
English Language Requirements
1) Malaysian Students
MUET Band 3.5 or IELTS Band 5.0 or CEFR High B1 or TOEFL iBT 40 or its equivalent; OR
Exemption of English Language requirement if the medium of instruction during Bachelor studies was in English
2) International Students
IELTS Band 5.0 or CEFR High B1 or TOEFL iBT 40 equivalent; OR
Exemption of English Language requirement if the medium of instruction during Bachelor studies was in English
