Doctor of Philosophy in Finance

Programme Overview:
The PhD in Finance is a research programme proposed for relevant Master's degree holders to further pursue and advance their research in the area of Finance. The programme aims to produce graduates who are equipped with in-depth and advanced knowledge in their research area, training with practical and analytical skills for problem-solving and solution development, statistical skills for results evaluation and interpretation towards achieving conclusions, as well as mastered communication skills and other essential soft-skills.
Throughout the duration of study (3 years for full-time or 4 years for part-time), candidates are required to complete TWO (2) taught courses, ie. Research Methodology and the Advanced Data Analysis for Economics and Business Research. At the end of their candidature period, candidates are required to submit their doctoral thesis and pass the viva voce before their PhD degrees are conferred.

Minimum Entry Requirement
Minimum Entry Requirements
A master's degree in Finance, Banking Insurance or a related field as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
Other equivalent qualifications which are recognized by the Malaysia government
English Language Requirements
1) Malaysian Students
MUET Band 4.5 or IELTS Band 6.5 or CEFR High B2 or TOEFL iBT 79 or equivalent; OR
Exemption of English Language requirement if the medium of instruction during Master studies was in English
2) International Students
IELTS Band 6.5 or CEFR High B2 or TOEFL iBT 79 or equivalent; OR
Exemption of English Language requirement if the medium of instruction during Master studies was in English
