Programme Overview:
The PhD programme in Food Science is designed for qualified individuals who want to gain in-depth research and academic experiences in areas such as food quality and safety, functional food, food biotechnology, food processing and fermentation. The scientific expertise of our faculty coupled with state-of-the-art facilities offer PhD students a conducive research environment to pursue their specialization in food chemistry, food microbiology, food processing, innovation and food product development, nutrition and other food-related fields of study.

Minimum Entry Requirement
Minimum Entry Requirements
A Master's Degree (Level 7 Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) in Food Science or related field accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
Other qualifications are equivalent to a Master's Degree (Level 7, MQF) that is accepted by the HEP Senate.
English Language Requirements
1) Malaysian Students
MUET Band 3.5/ IELTS Band 5.0/ CEFR High B1/ TOEFL iBT 40/ equivalent; OR
Exemption of English Language requirement if the medium of instruction during Master studies was in English
2) International Students
IELTS Band 5.0/ CEFR High B1 TOEFL iBT 40/ equivalent; OR
Exemption of English Language requirement if the medium of instruction during Master studies was in English
