Signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between TAR UMT and MIET, represented by TAR UMT's President, Prof. Ir. Dr. Lee Sze Wei, and MIET’s Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Alexander Balashov.
On September 10, 2024, MIET University from Russia and TAR UMT solidified a strategic partnership aimed at fostering international collaboration and academic excellence. A distinguished delegation from MIET, led by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Alexander Balashov, met with TAR UMT's senior leadership, including President Prof. Ir. Dr Lee Sze Wei.
The meeting centred on exploring potential areas of cooperation and resulted in several significant agreements. Notably, both institutions committed to signing a student exchange agreement, which will provide students with valuable opportunities to gain global exposure and broaden their academic perspectives. Furthermore, the possibility of joint supervision for Ph.D. and Master's students was discussed, offering a pathway to enhance research collaboration and knowledge sharing.
As part of the visit, the MIET delegation toured the university's research facilities, including the Laser Lab, Materials Lab, CAM Lab, and the CustoMate Line. These visits highlighted the institution's technological advancements and research expertise, paving the way for future partnerships.
This collaboration between MIET and TAR UMT marks a significant milestone in international academic cooperation. By combining their strengths and resources, both institutions are poised to drive innovation, nurture talent, and contribute to the global advancement of knowledge.
